Built in the Clinic. Taught from Practice.

Nico Misleh is an actively practicing board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner treating patients through Apollo Health Optimization, his direct-pay integrative medicine and HRT clinic in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is licensed across Ohio and Kentucky and sees patients via telehealth and virtual visits.

His clinical focus has been hormone optimization, testosterone replacement therapy, bioidentical hormone therapy, and integrative medicine for more than eight years. That is not a credential on paper. It is the foundation that every course module, every podcast episode, and every conference session is built on.

Everything he teaches at HRT University is grounded in what he does in practice. Not theory. Not abstraction. The same framework he uses in his own clinic with his own patients.
He built Apollo alongside his wife, Cherrell Misleh, BSN-RN, who co-founded and operates the practice. They run it the way medicine should be run: direct-pay, root-cause, unhurried.

Why He Built HRT University

Learn about Nico Misleh's Founder of HRT University™

Nico grew up in Cincinnati, homeschooled by a mother who rejected the conventional model of education in favor of something slower, deeper, and more deliberate. Learning was for its own sake. Curiosity was the point, not the test. That did not go away when he went into medicine. His maternal grandfather was a private-practice physician. Visiting his office as a child, Nico watched what medicine looked like when a clinician worked on his own terms: present with patients, accountable to the person in front of him rather than a billing code. That image stayed.

He trained at the University of Cincinnati and earned his MSN from Chamberlain University. He entered practice the conventional way. And he felt, fairly quickly, what most clinicians feel: the distance between what the guidelines say and what the patient in front of you is actually experiencing. He discovered functional and integrative medicine. He built a practice around it. He learned that hormones were not a niche, they were foundational, and that most providers were never taught how to actually work with them in any clinical depth.

He and Cherrell built Apollo Health Optimization to practice medicine the way it deserved to be practiced. Outside the insurance model. With time to think. With room to treat the root cause instead of managing the downstream effect. And then he kept watching colleagues struggle with the same questions he had once struggled with. Providers who cared deeply, practiced carefully, and still felt uncertain. Not because they lacked ability, but because they had never been given a real framework. HRT University launched in April 2025. Not to sell a course. To close a gap that had been costing patients the care they deserved.

Education Built Around Reasoning, Not Recipies

HRT University is a physiology-first clinical education platform for licensed healthcare providers. Nurse practitioners, physicians, PAs, pharmacists, RNs, and CNMs. It launched in April 2025 and has educated more than 3,000 providers globally in its first year.

The flagship product is the HRT Master Course. Six modules covering Metabolic Foundations, Male HRT, Female HRT, Advanced Female Endocrinology, Thyroid Optimization, and Adjunct Hormones. The course is not a protocol library. It is a reasoning framework: the kind of clinical clarity that holds up when a patient does not follow the script. Additional courses are in development, each built from the same physiology-first foundation.

THE MASTER COURSE

The Master Course is jointly accredited in partnership with Pinnacle Conference, LLC. Pinnacle is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), meaning course credit applies toward CME/CE for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists. Providers earn 30 CE hours, including 12 hours of pharmacology.

“Hormones influence nearly every system in the body. When you understand the ‘why’ behind the lab values, you transform from a prescriber into a clinician. It is a framework built on physiology, not fear.”
